You got the common seeds then you got this, a friend sent me these organic black peppercorns Piper nigrum.
It’s a very interesting vine that can get very big but if you don’t have the space for a massive pepper grove you can also prune the and still get a pretty big harvest. Black peppercorns are the together with green and white peppercorns are all from the same plant but it’s the time u harvest and how you handle them that determines what sort off peppercorns you get.
Hopefully we will have at least a few germinating out of this bunch.
The great thing with gardening is that there is always something new to try, new varieties of plants. In all honesty most trials don’t end so good but from time to time you discover a new favorite that you like growing and that likes you garden.

Sweden’s most endangered breed
The Svensk pälskanin is almost gone despite being a recognized breed for almost a 100 year and part of the Swedish governments responsible to protect. It’s number off breeding stock is less then a hundred probably fewer than fifty.
When we first learned about the dire conditions for this breed we got our first ones for almost 8 years ago and also started the FB group for the breed witch today is the main platform to connect conservationists and people who want to help save this unique breed. We are especially happy to welcome two new girls to the farm that will help too bring the breed back from the brink of extinction. Hopefully we can compensate last year tragedy when one of our breeding males got stolen probably by animal rights activists last year. How do you build your own greenhouse?
We have a few different greenhouse but today we are going to look closer on the newest ones we have the rebar mat house. It all starts with how tall you want you greenhouse to be, I’m 194 cm so I like it tall so I can stand up inside. You can test this by bending the mat until you have the height you are happy with. It gives u the with and depth of the greenhouse together with the height. Too solidify we have a extra frame about 50-70 cm about the bottom to stabilize and protect the greenhouse during winter with snow sliding of the roof down on the side otherwise risking too deformed the base. We also have a frame in place for the door that will have a 2”x2” going from each top of the door to the one on the other side also helping too solidify the rebare mat. Left to do her is also the doors and put plastic on, his model is our take on a popular concept and making it mobile so we never shift the soil in the greenhouse but shift the whole greenhouse instead making it a part of the crop rotation we have in our garden.
We have tested this model for 3 winters now and are very happy with its performance the same as during the summer

The true old fashioned Swedish white Leghorn
Imported to Sweden 1885 possible earlier, by 1910 it was the dominant breed of chickens in Sweden and the breed that permanently put a stop to the lack of eggs in Sweden putting a halt to imported eggs making the nation more self sustaining. This domination lasted until the 1950 when transnational hybrid chickens took over the market both here and in other countries. Luckily a group of White Leghorns were saved by a owner that 1957 got here stock and then kept it pure. Now almost twenty years ago we got breeding eggs from that farm just before she closed down. We are now the oldest flock of the old fashioned white Leghorn the pure descendants from that original import. It is a honor to keep these birds and spread them to new farms saving the breed. The only dark cloud is copycats trying to peddle much younger population of as the real deal, luckily hard core conservationists know the difference and are now helping to save this unique breed

Flower sprout in snow
One of the newer types of cabbage that we grow is this cross between kale and brusselsprouts. It takes for ever to grow out but just when you are about too give up on it then it shines. Most stuff is resting in the garden under the snow but these small buds are just perfect to harvest now.

Tid att ta ställning
Vilken typ av jordbruk skall vi ha i Sverige? Sverige har ett av världens bästa jordbruk med en stark lagstiftning för djur, skog och åkermark. Vi levererar förstklassiga och klimatsmarta livsmedel men tyvärr finns det fortfarande några skamfläckar på samvetet.

Det är nu hög tid att Sverige stänger de sista minkfarmerna och faktiskt lever upp till ett bra djurskydd för alla djur.

Precis som att ha höns inklämda i burar måste vi nu höja ribban och även värna om pälsdjuren. Svensk lagstiftning värna om djurens naturliga beteende och som ekologisk bonde går jag steget längre och låter våra kor får och grisar tillsammans med höns och ankor få ett liv i frihet där de får vara ute så mycket som möjligt och få en kost anpassa efter djurslaget. En mink tvingas till ett liv i en nätbur utan möjlighet till utlopp för sitt naturliga beteende som att kunna bada och simma. Mink är ett aktiv djur och den fattiga miljön som buren är leder till stereotypa och självskadebeteende.

Nu är det hög tid att vi faktiskt lever upp till djurskyddslagen och tar vårt ansvar även för minkar
