Can’t believe how big they are


Remember our enormous Gladiolus this summer well this is how they look now, twice twice the size that were when we planted them in the spring.
So as they flowers with 1-4 flowers per planted bulb they also double in size and a lot of them also split in to two or more.
Only goes to prove that if you take care of the soil and feed it the soil takes care of your plants many times over. I never seen them look this good and are definitely trying to grow more next year, not just a favorite in the garden but also with our restaurants and farmer market customers.

Emerald eggs


The historic breed of Isbar Blå/Blue have a diversity in its egg color with a range of mossy green to almost turquoise and I especially like the speckled eggs that look more wild than tame. During the spring and summer we help new conservation flocks to start by offering breeding eggs. A mistake most newcomers do is too mistake the true blood Isbar Blå/Blue for silverudds blå. Isbar blå/blue is the original created by Martin Silverudd our flock is now one of the absolute oldest in all of Sweden and and we have nothing to to with the newly created mix breed that is commonly called silverudds blå. Martin Silverudd created this and many more breeds to help Swedish egg production not like in the case of the lather where the people only do it to glorify them self while putting down real conservation with the original

Be a doer no just a talker


Last Christmas we announced our most ambitious project ever, building a ark stable for our two endangered heritage breeds of cows and her it is. 5 more weeks of building and then it’s done and fits 150 animals making it one of Sweden’s conservation centers.

We don’t stand alone thanks to our sponsors @vinnatur @kontextvin @fruktstereo your first contribution was vital for all of this and we will be eternally grateful for believing in us.
We also received partial funding from the department of agriculture for our work with conservation, sustainability when it comes to nutrition keeping it in the fields and not in our streams.

5 differences between our pigs and factory farms


1 Saving a breed
The Linderöd pig is a unique Swedish breed and for every farmer like us that keep a breeding group we help too insure their survival.
2 Always outside
365 days a year our pigs are outside working the garden, if it’s to cold or they want to have a rest they have nice houses full of straw to sleep in.
3 Together
Piglets stay and learn from their mom long time, instead of ripping them away as young as 21 days, our piglets stay with their mom until she is tired of them around 3 months.
4 No waste
Pigs are fantastic they turn weeds and veggies in too soil, when we harvest and clean vegetables before selling all the extra leafs etc don’t become compost instead we let the pigs decide. Is it eating or taking in to the house to sleep on or playing with. In the end all of it ends up as nutrient in our garden.
5 Individuals
All our pigs have names and they love a good belly scratch, the way to a pigs hart it’s through the stomach so if you got a snack for them you quickly become their best human friend.

Sourdough

Full grain breed day 1 the start
Mix of spelt wheat and rye that will be the sourdough starter.
Takes a few days but the sourdough together with more flour, salt and water is all that is needed for the most amazing breed where the natural flavors from the different grains are allowed to take center stage. Now for Christmas a bit of pomerans (dry orange peals) breed made like this keep for a really long time. If you us a traditional Swedish wood fired baking oven that gives the breed a hard crust and after a few days bury the loaf in grain and the balance in humidity prevents the breed from molding and drying out to much, before eating it get a steam to re-moisture it.
