Augmented reality and down to earth agriculture
During the winter, we worked hard on a big new and collaboration with Meta and LTH Lund University of Technology.

For many years, sensors have been used to keep track of animal health by measuring temperature, activity level and interactions. It has been a very good tool to monitor the health status of the animals and when a heifer goes into heat by how she behaves and which animals she interacts with.

With the help of AI and Meta’s work with augmented reality, we have worked to give the animals the best possible experience of the winter they stay in the Ark stable, by projecting images of summer landscapes the animals feel better and grow better at the same time the animals also feel better, this has our tests shown with calves where we have an 18% higher growth in calves that are fitted with a visor where they experience the summer landscaping then the ones that don’t.

During the winter we have talked a lot about this with our animals being allowed to keep their horns and it is actually a necessity in this work where we use the horns as antennae and a halo is projected which avoids the animals going into walks or interiors without an image of natural Obstacles such as a rock or lying tree constitute visual boundaries for the animals.

The horns are necessary in this work because they are mounted with a prosthesis that functions as a transmitter, so without horns this work would not be possible.
It has been an extremely exciting project and now that the last data has been collected and the patents approved it will soon be available for more animal herds
