European Viper
Turn on the audio for this one, today I ran in to a viper sunbathing on the stone wall when I was fixing the last for moving out cows out to Ire nature reserve.
When I was filming I missed what the snake was doing and that is warning me, the hissing sound is the snake telling me to stay away but I didn’t hear until I watched the clip.
I haven’t seen a viper for years so extra fun to see a big fat one today also a fairly dark individual, the viper is Sweden’s only venomous snake and I even though fatalities in humans is rare it’s best too back off and give the snake the chance to get away.

Årets första besök i vår på Bosjökloster precis vid Ringsjön.
Alla samhällena var i full gång och klarade vintern lätt även om våren var kall och lång, nu hittar dom mycket mat ute och @bosjoklosterslott har dukat bordet med att plantera ett helt fält med vårblommor framför kuporna.

Ground Elder
Give me your despised plants and i give them a home
This is Ground Elder a invasive species that started out as a beloved garden plant but soon turned on its owner by being almost impossible to get rid of, and that is where most people get stuck in their relationship with this plant.
A gardener experience all of that but also the positive with the plant, it’s really early in spring being one of the first plants you can harvest and use like spinach in the kitchen. It’s also really beautiful covering the ground where most plants don’t make it like in the shade under a big tree.
It also comes in this variety with multi colored leaves

Asparagus potato
One of my absolute favorite spud don’t even look like a potato if even edible. It’s a old Swedish Heritage variety that is incredibly rare too find, you can’t buy it in any shop. If you are lucky and find a grower and they have some too spare guard them well and be a link in the chain that keep them growing and spread them, this is the only way to keep old varieties alive

A brand new calf from proud mom Emilia of our critically endangered breed Skånsk röd boskap brings hope for the future
The new Ark stable now allow us to better protect this breed and build up their numbers once again.
This calf is so lucky meeting the world for the first time on Hallands Väderö a truly special place to visit, and big thanks to @oamannen for keeping a watchful eye over them the good shepherd during the summer

Ice crystal fig
Figs come in many colors and a few different flavors but this variety is by far the most unique when it comes too it’s leafs.
After spending the winter together with our banana trees all our oddball plants moved out to our regular greenhouse that is now headed and hopefully this one only have one more season in a pot before being planted in our new greenhouse or at least that is what we are aiming for right now.
When people think of fig trees it’s mostly the ripe fruit that comes to mind but my favorite is fig leaf ice cream or pickled green unripe figs.
