More unique and strange citrus is hard to find but is very popular in certain country in Asia for its high vitamin C content and abundance of essential oil. It’s not common to find it in your regular food store but if you are lucky you can grow it your self, citrus find our indoor climate a bit dry and warm for the most part and plants don’t do well. A nice light greenhouse not too warm is perfect, citrus also like a heavy clay soil with extra high iron content.

From the forests of japan to a greenhouse in Sweden wasabi loves them both and after last years trial we are ready to broaden their numbers and try more varieties. It’s normally the stems that are harvest and graded too make the most classic of all sushi ingredients, but for that you need to kill the whole plant. Spring is getting closer and the pigeons are getting prepared for the breeding season. Unlike our other birds pigeons produce milk that they feed too there young. The parents share the responsibility brooding the two eggs and too defended and feed the baby’s. We have the old Swedish breed Svensk Kråsduva that originated from farm pigeons. They all have the white body, short beak, ruffled feathers in their neck and on the front of their throat. The wings can have different colors and patterns but it never spills on too the body. Pigeons always find their way home back to their mate and babies. This is something people have used too send messages with homing pigeons.

Ever seen 2 dozen Chinese painted quail eggs? Now you have also named King quail these super small birds lay a lot of eggs and sometimes even try to brood them. They lay more eggs then the mum to be can sit on so we put the surplus in the incubator to build up our numbers, so far we only have a trio of one Male and two female plus after today 4 small chicks. I’m absolutely in love with these miniature eggs and hope to get some extra soon so I can try them. Mostly a ornamental bird I’m surprised how productive they are, a lot of different colormorfs exist so people have been breeding them for a long time. Everytime you get a new species it can take a few years too get to know them and what they like/ don’t like, so far so good but if you have any tips please leave a comment below
